The Four Es

The Four Es represent both the process of spiritual growth and the structure of our ministries at Greenville. Although everyone’s spiritual journey is unique there are common elements that the Bible teaches us to pursue. Often there is a progression in our spiritual maturity. The Four Es express this progression.

First, there is the step of worshiping God, which we call EXALT. This begins when we respond to the Good News by putting our faith in Christ and it continues to be the core of following Jesus. As a church we gather weekly to express this worship as a unified body. Second, we begin to grow in both our understanding of and obedience to God’s Word, which we call EQUIP. Third, we use the gifts the Holy Spirit has given us to serve others within and outside of the church, which we call ENGAGE. Finally, we actively share the Good News in word and deed with those who do not know Jesus as Lord, which we call EVANGELIZE.

We have also structured our ministries around this process with four E Teams. A brief description of each team is below

The Exalt Team exists to encourage our worship and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ and to be one with His Spirit. The team is divided into three different areas: Music Ministry (which includes the Choir, Praise Team and the Audio Visual Team), the Prayer Ministry Group, and Support Ministries. All of these ministries work together to enhance our worship, to enable our growth, and to encourage the enjoyment of the presence of the Lord.

The Music Ministry’s purpose is to enhance our corporate worship experience by leading us into the presence of the Lord, engaging us in praise of Christ, and preparing us for the message from God’s Word.

The Prayer Ministry’s goal is to encourage and develop an active and dynamic ministry of prayer for the Church by establishing opportunities for prayer prior to each service, weekly prayer sessions and monthly prayer meetings where we can pray for the church and the needs of the body of Christ.

The Support Ministry’s task is to assist, perform and coordinate the worship ministry of the church such as communion, decorations in the sanctuary, and the special recognitions during the year enhancing our visual and corporate worship.

Clem Kaloyanides is the leader of our Exalt Team.

The Equip Team exists to help move believers into a mature faith in Jesus Christ, to equip the saints to lead in the local church, and to prepare them to share the Good News (link) in our communities.

The Equip Team offers many discipleship opportunities including K-12 Sunday School, adult Bible studies, relational small groups and one-to-one mentoring. Additionally, nursery and preschool programs are offered during Sunday School and our 11am worship service. The Equip Team also oversees our church library which has many resources to help disciples grow in Christ.

John Prest is the leader of our Equip Team.

The Engage Team exists to encourage believers to be engaged in ministering to others. God has gifted and empowered every Christian to serve others. The Engage Team seeks to connect people with opportunities to use these gifts.

Following the example of Acts 1:8, the Engage Team is structured around expanding circles of ministry opportunities. The Jerusalem Ministry Group focuses on ministering to those within our church and our surrounding communities. The Judea and Samaria Ministry Group extends the reach of our service to our county, state, and nation. The Ends of the Earth Ministry Group which supports missionaries and relief agencies around the world as they bring the hope of Jesus Christ to all peoples.

Joe Mayo is the leader of our Engage Team.

The Evangelize Team exists to encourage followers of Christ to share the Good News (link) with others. The Evangelize Team seeks to train disciples in how to share their faith in various ways. The team also host special events in which people encounter the life-changing message of Jesus. Additionally, the Evangelize Team aims to ensure the other events and ministries of the church have a gospel component to them so that as many people as possible will have an opportunity to hear the message of hope in Christ.
